This day trip will slowly but gently take you out of Strasbourg and show you a more typical side of Alsace.

First you'll ride about 1h30-2hrs along the lovely 18km cycle path leading to Ergersheim/Wolxheim/Avolsheim villages, located west from Strasbourg, at the foot of the first pre-Vosgian hills. There, a circuit will lead you through the vines, show you Le Horn - a hill famous for its golden statue of Jesus Christ blessing the local vineyards. At this stage you should start getting hungry,  what about a pic-nic in a pine forest on the Scharrachberg ?Then down hill to visit the Dompeter church of the 11th century in Avolsheim, and pass through the nearby villages (Wolxheim, Ergersheim, Dachstein). Stop at a local organic winery and discover the incredible white wines of Domaine Brand (certified biodynamic by the Demeter label, this domaine is specialized in organic natural wines without sulfites) Check their website on www.domainebrand.fr

Way back by train is possible from Dachstein station (2km) or from Molsheim (5km)
